Courses on your Doorstep
Having a top-rated college on your doorstep – so you can still live at home while you study, if you choose – can provide all sorts of benefits for students in addition to quality teaching, including huge savings on accommodation costs.
Choosing to study a university level course at home means – in most cases- you can continue living with family. This is likely to cost you considerably less than moving away to study, with the National Union of Students averaging the cost of living for students approximately at £12,056.
The majority of our full-time courses are delivered over 3 days, and we also offer a large range of part-time programmes. This means that lots of our students are also able to keep their existing jobs or gain part-time employment. All higher education courses are taught on-site at our Middlehaven Campus.
Middlesbrough College is situated in a fantastic location, just a short walk from both the bus and train station. This means that wherever you live in the Tees Valley, we are easily accessible. Students thinking of relocating to Middlebrough will benefit from one of the lowest living costs in the country, but don't let this deceive you, it's an amazing region to live.
Teesside offers more than you would expect
Middlesbrough is a vibrant town packed with a great choice of shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and entertainment venues. There is loads to see and do, from award-winning parks to internationally renowned art galleries and great sports facilities.
Middlesbrough is Teesside’s largest town and has great transport links to Newcastle and Durham in the North, as well as York and Leeds in the south. If you choose to live here, you’ll be just a short commute to the beautiful heritage coastline and North Yorkshire moors.
On your doorstep, you can visit Teesside's iconic Roseberry Topping or take a stroll around Saltholme, a picturesque nature reserve nestled in Teesside's industrial landscape.
The College is situated in Middlehaven –arguably one of the most exciting regeneration schemes in the UK due to its impressive scale, waterside location and contemporary architecture. Around £200 million has already been invested, transforming the area from a heavy industrial brownfield site to a prime education and leisure destination home to Middlesbrough Football Club and much more. More is still to be done, with a £30million snow centre being planned adjacent to the College offering world class leisure facilities on your doorstep.
