Tees Valley Net Zero Industry Scholarship

Information for Applicants

The Tees Valley Net Zero Scholarship is a 2-year programme based at colleges across the Tees Valley, with routes in different engineering specialisms.

Middlesbrough College is offering the Electrical and Instrumentation & Control pathways, with a total of 36 places available.

Aptitude Testing

Aptitude test is an online test assessing problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, critical thinking, literacy and numerical proficiency. This is a required step in the Scholarship admissions process. To progress your application, you will need to complete the testing and meet the minimum threshold.

The Aptitude testing will take around 40 minutes to complete and needs to be completed onsite at Middlesbrough College. Sessions will run hourly between 9:30am – 2:30pm – please select a time when booking your ticket.

The Recruitment Process

1. Expression of Interest and Application

Applications at Middlesbrough College are now closed for scholarships, but other providers are accepting application until 25th April. Click here to find out more.

2. Aptitude testing – 24th, 26th or 30th June

These online tests assess problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, critical thinking, literacy and numerical proficiency. You must hit the minimum threshold to progress to the interview stage. Book your test session through the buttons above.

3. Interviews with College and Employers – week commencing 7th July

The interviews will focus on your motivation for the scholarship, your person qualities, communication skills, adaptability and attitude to learning, as well as your career aspirations.

4. Confirmation of Scholarship offer

Places on the scholarship are conditional, and dependent upon passing the aptitude test and confirmation of GCSE grades at enrolment.

5. Enrolment – from Thursday 21st August (GCSE Results Day)

Your appointment for enrolment will be sent out at the end of July via email and letter. It is important you attend your scheduled appointment slot!
