NCFE CACHE Diploma in Counselling Skills – Newcastle – Level 3

This course aims to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to use counselling skills both within your current role and everyday life.

You will cover the following core competencies:

• Further develop counselling skills
• Evaluate the 3 main theoretical approaches in counselling
• Apply ethical frameworks
• Understand equality and diversity
• Personal Development

September – June, Entry points available in each Semester.

You will study 2 days or 2 evenings each week for a duration of 16 weeks.

• You should have achieved a Level 2 in Counselling.
• Evidence of relevant sector specific experience will also be considered.
• Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy

This course is assessed through a range of knowledge assessment tasks and in class skill assessments.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

• Employment in roles that involve providing emotional support
• Progression within a number of roles utilising counselling skills
• Foundation degrees in counselling leading to qualified counsellor status
