Access to Higher Education Diploma (Business Studies) (Distance Learning) – Level 3

The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Business Studies) offers you the chance to study a range of dynamic topics exploring current approaches to business that will help you to develop skills in critical thinking, close reading, evidence-based research and analysis, and academic referencing.

You will study a range of units that will make up to a total of 60 credits.

Non-graded units:

• Business Communications
• Finance for Business
• International Trade and Development
• UK Economic Environment

• Principles of Marketing
• Principals of Management

September – June

You will be expected to at least 8 hours a week to the programme but you can fit this around your work and lifestyle.

Applicants must be 19 years or older and must hold certificates in English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE Grade 4 or C; Level 2 Functional Skills).

You will be assessed on a continuous basis, both formally and informally throughout the Diploma.

Assessment methods will be flexible and creative and will echo those used in higher education. You will complete work in forms ranging from written essays and research reports, short presentations, financial and marketing plans, as well as other documents reflecting business environments.

You will need an electronic device that allows you to access Microsoft Teams and the Pearl Learning Platform. This could be laptop, iPad/Tablet, desktop PC, smart phone, etc.

You may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged 19-23 and this is not your first full Level 3 qualification or you are aged 24 or over on the start date of the course, you will have to pay fees. However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee.
