T Levels are designed to follow GCSEs and are equivalent to studying three A Levels. These two-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure the content is industry-relevant and prepares learners for the workforce.
This qualification is ideal for learners aged 16-18 who are interested in pursuing a career in one of the many fields within Engineering, including the Automotive sector. The Automotive T Level qualification offers more than just an introduction to the industry. Its structure and content also provide an understanding of the connections with, and essential skills in, the broader engineering sector.
You will study key topics such as maintenance, installation and repair requirements, fault detection and diagnosis, and communication for maintenance, installation, and repair activities.
As an Automotive T Level learner, you will also focus on a standalone Occupational Specialism in light and electric vehicles.
T Level Occupational Specialisms are designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to reach threshold competence in a specific occupation. Threshold competence means you have the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to enter the industry, and the ability to develop full occupational competence over time with the right support and training.
Our Automotive faculty ensures your qualification remains up-to-date, preparing you for a successful career in the sector. We achieve this by collaborating with local employers who contribute to course delivery and training.
Additionally, local and regional employers will offer opportunities for industry demonstrations, talks, site visits, and, where possible, work experience.
