Process Technology Skills Bootcamp – Level 3

The qualification comprises of mandatory and optional units (12 total), including:

Mathematics For Process Industries

• Gain the mathematical skills and knowledge needed for general understanding of operations and processes throughout the process industry

Communications and Information Technology in Process Industries

• Improve communication and IT skills in a technical context

Process Chemistry in Process Industries

• Gain a deeper insight and understanding of the chemical principles involved in the manufacturing processes of the chemical industry.

Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow in Process Industries

• Gain and understanding of the way in which principles of heat transfer are applied to problems associated with the heating and cooling of process fluids in industry and the way in which the principles of fluid flow are used to solve problems associated with he transport and controls of fluids in pipeline systems.

Mixing and Blending of Solids and Fluids

• This unit provides the essential knowledge for an understanding of the problems associated with the mixing and blending of solids and fluids and the techniques used by industry to overcome them

Learners will study for 2 hour sessions over 16 weeks, remote learning, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5pm – 7pm.

There are no official entry requirements, however it is advised that the delegate has a minimum of Level 2 mathematics. The course is aimed at those who are working in process technology and have a great deal of technical skill and knowledge. They work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard. Learners should hold a Level 2 qualification within Process Technology.

This course is assessed through a combination of on-site and online exams.

Learners will need to access to the internet for virtual learning.

A small contribution is required from businesses:

10% of cost for businesses with under 250 employees = £259.80 per learner

30% of cost for businesses with over 250 employees = £779.40 per learner
