Traineeships with Middlesbrough College

Looking to take on a Trainee?

Traineeships are flexible and allow yourself and the college to design a programme which suits both your needs and the needs of the Trainee. It will allow you to shape the skills of a young person, helping your business in the process along with their long-term work prospects.

Traineeships can last anything from 6 weeks to 6 months.

A vital part of the Traineeship is how you can support the young person with their next step to employment. Ideally, we want the student to progress to an interview for a job or Apprenticeship within your company. If no suitable positions exist, a meaningful exit interview with a reference can help them towards securing a job or apprenticeship with another employer.

• All training costs are funded by the Government.
• No wage is required but we strongly urge you to cover the costs of transport and meals for your trainee.

The Benefits Of Having A Trainee

You as an employer can design a high quality Traineeship within your company in partnership with a training provider – one that suits both the needs of your business and the needs of the trainee.

You can get ahead of the competition by bringing enthusiastic young people with their fresh ideas into your business before they get on to the job ladder.

Traineeships will allow you to shape the skills and experience of young people from your local community, helping your business to develop a loyal and talented workforce.

Working with trainees will give established staff members the chance to develop their skills in mentoring and coaching young people.

If you decide to offer a trainee an Apprenticeship you could be eligible for an Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of £1500.
